In response to Therapeutic Environment posted by brisbaneartist:

Dear Jo,

Thank you for kind words. I really appreciate them and I have to agree that you are right when you say that it is rare to hear anyone talking of teaching as a Theraputic Environment.

Unfortunately, the sad truth is teaching has become seen by many as the perfect job for those who want a great salary, summers off and of course, all the other perks that come with teaching. It's taken for granted that at the end of the day you have the lives of several students in your hands, and how you act towards them and with them will inevitably leave a mark on their lives.

Whether it is a positive one or a negative one depends really on how mature and understanding the teacher is.

If you have anything else you would like to add, please don't hesitate. It is a pleasure to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Mario R.J. Corbin
