What we often take for granted is our own ideas and values behind what shapes our understanding of the world, or rather, the Western World. Assuming that what seems logical in New York when it comes to either teaching methodology or the basis of a contract between you and your employer may turn out to be overtly frustrating when attempting to apply what you think you know to a foreign culture with totally different concepts of what is logical and what is not.
