Organizing Your Life for ESL Teaching Jobs

Last week we examined the benefits of taking an extra curricular activity on after work or during your weekends.

However, some of you may find that you're just not able to muster up the motivation necessary to get out there and join something, anything. Whatever your reasons, be it financially, or simply lack of interest, there is still yet one other means of freeing up some time for you to relax and get start each day refreshed.

It may be painfully obvious, but organization is often one of the best remedies when it comes to getting your life in order. Especially where work is concerned, often time's things get on top of you when you fail to clearly fulfill your duties. In one school an ESL teacher was caught red handed having her class prepare her lesson plans for her next class. The director of the school was making his usual rounds when he came upon her class. Needless to say, this particular teacher soon found herself unemployed.

Organizing your time, indeed your daily schedule is not only beneficial for getting you those extra moments during the day to relax but they are just as important for ensuring that your students are getting the best possible out of each and every class that you teach. By the third month you should be well on your way of having everything prepared and ready for each and every class before the class begins. Any paper work, such as student reports, examinations, corrections and what not should be finished and handed back in a timely manner.

In so saying, if you find yourself still struggling to get on top of your work, sit down and take a hard look at what you could be doing wrong. Discuss the situation with a coworker whom you trust and find out what they do in order to get their work done on time. There is no shame in seeking help, especially when it will inevitably improve your productivity. Some people are naturally better at organizing their work than others, its is a learning process.

At the end of the day, regardless of anything else that you do, being organized and developing a strong work ethic will always guarantee you success in every aspect of your life. As well, it will help you organize those vacations, cat naps, and extra curricular activities nicely!
